Okot B’tek backs women’s football as Ateker Cup unveils women’s competition
The Ateker Cup Women FC was officially launched yesterday at Oligoi Stadium during the ongoing Ateker Cup of Nations Tournament, in a colourful event that attracted football fans and leaders.
The event was graced by Lango Member of Parliament Hon. Okot B’tek, who joined other guests in witnessing the launch and an exciting showcase of women’s football.
The opening match saw Kaberamaido FC take on Soroti FC in a thrilling encounter that ended 1-1. Both teams displayed determination and attacking football, keeping the fans entertained throughout the game.






The exciting women’s football showcase added colour to the tournament, with fans cheering the players and celebrating the growing role of women in sport.
The Ateker Cup Women is being funded by Ms. Ann Elotu the Managing Director of Decodi that happens to be a partnering body with Ateker cup of Nations.
Isaac Olupot, the CEO of Ateker Cup of Nations, said the introduction of the women’s competition is aimed at creating a platform for female players to showcase their talent, gain exposure and contribute to the development of football across the Ateker region.
