Ngora Ateker Cup Team Starts Title Defense with a Bang!
The defending champions of the Ateker Cup 2024, Ngora Ateker team, kicked off their title defense in style, muscling out Kalaki team 2-0 in the Ateker Cup of Nations qualifiers held in Ngora High School grounds, Ngora District.
The first half was a tense 0-0 draw, but the champions showed their mettle in the second half. Eperu Gammalein scored the opener, before he magically sealed the win with a one-on-one loop, sending the fans and the visitors to laughter mixed with pain.

Coach Seth Omoding praised his team’s champion spirit, saying their title defense began with wins over Ethiopia, Kenya, and South Sudan in the last sports expedition in kenya. He also warned teams that have qualified for next year’s Ateker Cup of Nations, hosted in Teso Uganda, that they’re dreaming if they think they can win the title on home soil .
Ngora’s journey was tough, but they beat Amuria 1-0, humbled Kumi 2-0, cruised past Kaberemaido 2-1, and edged out Pallisa 5-4 on penalties in the semis.
Four teams have qualified for next year’s Ateker Cup of Nations, set to be hosted in Teso, Uganda. Who will be the champions?
