The inaugural Ateker Cup will finally come to an end on Saturday 26th March at Oligoi International Stadium when Pallisa faces off with Tororo in the finals.
Pallisa defeated Amuria to set up this battle with Tororo who knocked out Katakwi.
According to Ismael Edu, the technical director of the tournament, the finals will have different dignitaries and different other activities including skating, biking, traditional dances by the Zulu Dancers, music performance from surprise artists, ajosi dancers among others.
The game will be live on TV East, Urban TV, Bukedde TV, Wan Luo TV, Etop Radio and other local radio stations.
Individual award dinner will be held on 5th April, at Timisha hotel in Soroti where the best of the tournament will be awarded.
This will include goalkeeper of the tournament, top scorer, most valuable player, best coach among others. Each will receive an award plus Shs100,000.
Edu applauded the Teso community for the soft and sweet reception of the first edition, adding that the second edition will be mouth watering
Road to the finals
The tournament was segmented into two groups, Teso North and Teso South with 6 teams each.
Teso North had; Katakwi, Amuria, Kalaki, Soroti, Kaberemaido, and Kapelebyong while Teso South had Pallisa, Tororo, Ngora, Kumi, Bukedea, and Serere.
The tournament was played on a one-legged basis due to time factor. Only the semi-finals were played on a home and away basis.
